17,000 Islands of Imagination
Indonesia's Guest of Honour Pavilion at Frankfurt Book Fair 2015
Indonesia's Guest of Honour presentation at the world's oldest and most prestigious book fair has received rave reviews from visitors and media both in Germany and at home.
We were selected the designer of Indonesia's Guest of Honour Pavilion at Frankfurt BookFair 2015 through a national open competition held in June 2014.
The theme, 17,000 Islands of Imagination, presents an ambiance and images suggestive of an archipelagic world, Indonesia, a country linked by seas, shaped by a chain of volcanic histories, mold by a narrative of nationhood. The design of the pavilion uses rows of lanterns in colors of the seas hung from the ceiling to define spaces and represent the image of the Indonesian archipelago.
Location: Frankfurt, Germany.
Area: 2,500 sqm.
Cost: EUR 1 million.
